In the
first leg of the Top Eight Clubs played under floodlights at Nyayo National
Stadium, Tusker FC have already secured
an advantage by beating the green army 1-0 in a tightly contested game.
It was
the Ugandan Import; Robert Omunuk who handed the brewers the special gift and
in return silence the Kogallo fans who had thronged the Nairobi West Facility.
That goal was important to the brewers since it handed them not only just a
goal, but equally an away goal.

keeper Ivo Mapunda was between the posts at the time Omunuk rose above everyone
to head in the winning goal in the 40th minute. Interestingly,
Omunuk was definitely not the tallest of players inside the box.

Mahia had a strategy of relying on counter attacks which did not effectively
pay out. Gor struggled to break the brewers’ backline with one of their best
chances coming up in the 79TH Minute, a Kelvin Omondi’s shot which
went wide. The Final winner in the scheduled return leg is expected to meet
either Thika United or Chemelil Sugar next Month when finals are played.
