Nairobi Kenya: Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards have confirmed the
acquisition of five new players as the midseason transfer window draws
to a close.
According to the team’s head coach Luc Eymael, the club has secured
the services of Ugandan forward Daniel Wagaluka who has been a free
agent since leaving Tanzanian side Azam FC last year.
The team has also completed the moves for Kenyan internationals Peter Opiyo from Tusker and Abdalla Juma from Sofapaka.
The highly rated forward Michael Khamati from Administration Police
has also completed the move as well as Sadique Mohamed who was on trials
at the team during the mid-season break.
The coach also confirmed that he is still looking to sign one more player before the end of the transfer.
“We have completed transfers for Daniel Wagaluka, Peter Opiyo,
Abdalla Juma, Sadique Mohamed and Michael Khamati and so far things are
fine to that extent. The treasurer also gave me a call and told me funds
will be availed for another new signings so I am hoping to bring in one
more player,” he said.
The signings are yet to be confirmed by KPL but the players could be
registered in time for the team’s game against Thika United on Monday 1
